‘Elixir’ is the name that was used in ancient times for healing preparations composed by pharmacists with herbs, spices and medicinal roots. One medicinal plant - usually rhubarb or cinchona, in this case also mint - was used in a higher grammage than the others, determining the name of the formulation.

The perfect combination of the valuable root of the ‘pink-split’ Rheum officinale and different varieties of mint, including the unmistakable ‘Mentha x Piperita Luds, variety Officinalis Sole’ with its unique and persistent scent.

Among all the pharmaceutical ingredients with tonic-digestive properties, Rhubarb root, with its unmistakeable aroma, has always been one of the most suitable for use in new recipes due to its ability to enhance a mixture.

The fresh and lively traits of mint find in the ‘Mentha x Piperita Luds Officinalis Sole’ variety, which grows in the plains surrounding the city of Turin and in particular in the Pancalieri area, fineness and intensity that are unique in the world.

Elixir Doragrossa: a simple yet intriguing liqueur, whose flavour is reminiscent of candies in jars from old grocery stores, it is the result of the combination of the bitter component of rhubarb and the frank freshness of mint.
