At the roots of the italian liqueur-making art
Doragrossa pays homage to Turin with a dedication to Italy and its great liqueur making tradition. A journey through time, to rediscover flavours once thought lost forever. A delicious taste of our history, in search of its roots, when Turin’s know-how in mixing herbs and spices and in “running stills” was famous throughout Europe.

A society’s liqueurs are its mirror image and Turin’s liqueurs, like its bitters, produced here since the XVIII century, faithfully conveyed the elegance and refinement of the royal court, the fulcrum of what was then Italy’s capital.

But history is fluid and full of nuances, just like the liqueurs - sometimes sweet like a “rosolio”, sometimes pungent like the mint - which have returned to delight both our eyes and our palates. Sometimes a magical alchemy of facts and people united by a passion for history and a love of good things can be enough to breathe new life into a little bit of the past.
Doragrossa wants to re-propose to today's connoisseurs the wisdom of our forefathers, their creativity in using the herbal excellences of our territory to compose harmonies of flavours and fragrances that transform well-known liqueurs into rich experiences for the senses.
The nation and its inhabitants grew and changed. After gathering together in the churches and private courtyards they now sat in comfortable cafés, to the sound of an accordion, chatting and sipping these magnificent liqueurs.

Doragrossa Heritage

Confident that great cocktails necessarily result from the use of great ingredients, we leave it to you, or your favourite bartender, to prepare the ideal Doragrossa drink. Below are some of our recipes, which we take the liberty of suggesting.

The Collections
Piedmont's liqueur tradition drew from the wealth of local botanicals but also from the spices that flourishing trade brought to the Savoy capital. Widening our gaze to the rest of Italy, our recipes were enriched with the essences and fruits of the Mediterranean. We therefore propose several collections of spirits: one dedicated to Turin, one that opens up to the influences of the Mare Nostrum.
The nation and its inhabitants grew and changed. After gathering together in the churches and private courtyards they now sat in comfortable cafés, to the sound of an accordion, chatting and sipping these magnificent liqueurs.
